  • IFATSEA and CANSO sings a Memory of Cooperation

    Dear colleagues,

The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) and our International Federation IFATSEA, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) aimed at strengthening the role of ATSEP professionals.

The signing took place on 25 September, during the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between our two organisations. This MoC sets the foundation for closer cooperation and joint efforts to shape the future of aviation.

    Key focus areas:
    – Support modern training for ATSEP to address emerging technologies such as AI, cybersecurity, virtualisation, and automation.
    – Promote the ATSEP profession and collaborate on outreach, diversity, and global workforce planning, to attract and retain the next generation of professionals.
    – Share knowledge and experience across organisations to strengthen safety culture and examine how technological change will reshape ATSEP responsibilities.
    – Work together on global initiatives including the Complete Air Traffic System (CATS) Concept of Operations and ICAO programmes

    Kind regards

  • ERM ATSEP Training Team (ATST) meeting

The Eurogroup is organizing his first ATSEP Training Team (ATST) meeting, scheduled for 1 December 2025.

This is the new group I referred to during the Euro-Conference. The ATST, operating independently from the ATM Training Team, will serve as a specialist advisory and coordination body focusing on pan-European ATSEP training, assessment, competency, and broader human performance matters, all under the auspices of EUROCONTROL.

For your information, IFATSEA already has a dedicated working group addressing these topics in the ATT. However, if anyone from your organization is interested in joining, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Please feel free to disseminate this invitation within your organisation and encourage relevant participation.

    Kind regards

    Costas Christoforou
